Minutes from February and... Crawfish Festival success
The first annual Pearland Crawfish Festival was a huge success. The final tally
for what the Friends Group will receive has not yet been determined, but I
expect the amount to be in the neighborhood of $30,000.
Those that volunteered your time to help out were awesome. Many of you went
above and beyond what was expected. Thank you so much. I believe we did our
part very well. Things got a little hectic at times and I may not have properly
recognized some of you. To be sure I and the event planners can properly
acknowledge your contribution, please send me your full names and email
addresses. I want you to be properly recognized for your involvement. I would
appreciate it.
I will send out final numbers when we get the final check.
The new library is now scheduled to open on May 1 and a grand opening ceremony is planned for May 15.
Thank you all for your past support. But now that the library is about to
become a reality I hope you continue to see the importance of maintaining a
strong friends group and will consider becoming more involved in the groups
activities. Recent meetings have been sparsely attended and it would be good to
see increased interest from our members. As a reminder we meet the fourth
Thursday of each month. Reminder notices are sent out before the meeting dates.
